It's a...

Boy! We found out on Friday, February 13, our anniversary, that we are going to have a boy. We have not got the final results back yet, but everything appears to be good. The technician was absolutely sure it was a boy, so no doubt there. The baby is about 14 ounces and 7 inches long. That is about where he should be for this time. We are now over the half way point. Claudia is getting very big. She has been feeling the baby kick for about a week or so. She says, that she thinks the baby gets up with her in the morning and she can feel him kick then. I said that is good that the baby gets up with her, because in a few motnhs, we will be getting up with the baby. The morning sickness is gone for the most part and we hope it continues that way. Claudia's energy level is picking up too! We pray that they both continue to grow and be healthy. Your prayers are appreciated. See you next post!

More Belly Progress!

Here are some more pictures of Claudia's ever growing belly! She had a doctors appointment on 1/16/09 and the Doctor said everything is looking good. They drew some more blood and also checked the baby's heartbeat. Now, for those of you that believe you can determine the baby's gender by the rate of the heartbeat it was 155 beats per minute! Feel free to make your predictions here! An ultrasound will be scheduled at the next appointment so we will know at that time what the gender will be.

Belly Progress

Here is the progress of the belly so far. Claudia is at 13 weeks. She has been feeling her clothes growing more snug all the time. She has devised a way using a hair tie to extend her buttons on her skirts so that she can continue to wear them. The skirt in this picture is a maternity skirt, but the shirt is just an extra large. Sometimes you just have to improvise!
We will try to keep everyone updated with pictures and happenings. Thanks for the prod Kelly!
May God continue to richly bless everyone as we celebrate the birth of His Son Jesus today!

Funny stuff

Claudia is currently working as a teachers aide for the Beatrice Head Start program. She works with mainly 3-4 year old kids. One day, a child asked her, "Miss Claudia, when you get dressed in the morning, can you see your baby?" Later on, the same child asked "Miss Claudia, how will your baby come out?" To which the quick thinking Claudia replied "I don't know, this is my first baby, why don't you ask your mom, she has two." I thought that was a pretty good answer!

First baby pictures!

The First Ultrasound!

Claudia had another doctor appointment today, November 21, 2008. The doctor said everything was looking good. The results of her blood test came back and there is a small problem with her thyroid, but it can be regulated with medicine. Everything else was good. She has to take one pill a day for the thyroid, and the doctor does not seemed too concerned about it. The doctor says it is relatively common. An ultrasound was also performed. Again, everything looked good. At this appointment, Claudia was 8 weeks and four days pregnant. She has only gained a few pounds. She is probably the only woman that wants to know her weight! In the pictures, the baby is the big thing on the left side and the looping thing to the right is the umbilical cord. The baby measured 1.6 cm long. Like a raspberry, only cuter.
Please continue to pray for all three of us especially that Claudia and our child continue in good health, and that God will give us wisdom so that we may raise this child in a manner that glorifies Him.

The First Doctor Visit!

Freebies!
B P Check

Patiently waiting her turn!

On Friday October 24, 2008, Claudia had her first appointment with her OB/GYN! It was a pretty simple visit. They checked Claudia's blood pressure and did a pregnancy test confirming what we already knew, Claudia is pregnant. Claudia also got a big package of "freebies" and some more appointments. There is one on November 12, 2008 for blood tests and then another on November 25, 2008 for the first ultra sound. We are excited for this one. Claudia will be about 9 weeks along and we should be able to see a heartbeat. We most likely won't see much else. A big THANK YOU to Christina Rosevelt for accompanying Claudia to the appointment and taking the pictures!
That is all for now. Keep tuning in and we will keep you informed as we get any new info! Love,
The Gaisers
