Belly Update!

Claudia had her monthly check-up on Friday the 13th. All was well. The Doctor said the ultrasound showed all the important parts of the baby to be growing and sized right and all that. Praise the Lord for a healthy baby thus far! Claudia weighed in at 164 pounds. Yes, she actually wanted me to write that. She is probably the only woman I know that wants to gain weight. She is very proud of her "baby bump." The next appointment, she has to get her sugar checked and will have to drink the Glucola. I can't imagine it to be too tasty. The baby is moving more and more everyday. Claudia says it has gone from kicks and punches to being able to feel the baby roll from side to side. Sorry for two posts so close together, but we are on the Baby's timetable.
We are working on names, and have come up with James, David, Noah, Daniel, Christopher, Seth or some combination of any two of the above. So far James is in the lead. Any suggestions...?

A small scare...

On Saturday, March 14 at about 11:15 PM we got a small scare. Claudia was having severe pain and cramping in her belly. She held out for as long as she could but it got to the point where it was unbearable, so we called the emergency room. Hospitals as always want to err on the side of caution, so we pack up and go in. They get Claudia all hooked up to the machinery and they are listening to the baby's heartbeat and everything is OK except for the pain, which has not subsided. They decide to give Claudia what they called a GI Cocktail which had Maalox and some anesthetic type of liquid and a third unknown liquid. She drank that and began to feel much better. The best they could tell us was that it was heartburn but due to the position of the baby, the acid could not go up the esophagus so the pain was localized in the stomach. When Claudia first started to have the pains, I asked is it contractions and she said, how would I know, I have never had them before. Good answer I guess. Or maybe just a dumb question. Too soon for contractions anyway. This little guy needs to cook a little longer. Praise the Lord everything came out OK. We will keep you all updated.
Love and God Bless!
